We breed Labrador Retrievers for genetic soundness, proper Labrador temperament and conformation, trainability, and retrieving desire.

Our Labradors have their hips x-rayed and evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) at about 2 years of age. They also have annual eye examinations and are registered with the Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF). All puppies are sold with a written health guarantee that includes refund of purchase price in the event of hip dysplasia.

We believe that the primary reason that the Labrador is the most popular purebred dog in America today is its excellent temperament, which includes a strong desire to please. We pay careful attention to temperament in selecting dogs for our breeding program. All of our pups are born in our house and are socialized by interaction with people.


We think that proper Labrador conformation (structure) is important, and we like the stocky build, good coats, and calm temperament of the English imports. So most of the dogs in our breeding program have a strong English Labrador influence in their pedigree. We also seek to follow the AKC breed standard, including the section on height. The Labradors in our breeding program come from some of the best conformation lines in North America and Europe.

Three of our sires are AKC Champions (one is now retired). We have several young males that are just starting their show careers and two are Champion pointed. We occasionally breed outside of our kennel to stud dogs that we think have been exceptional producers. Our females typically have four litters and are then retired to be companions. The picture to the right is of one of our retired females with our grand daughter in California.

All of the dogs that we keep in our breeding program must have an easy to live with temperament, a desire to retrieve, a willingness to please, and be athletic and trainable. Most of our puppies go to homes to be family companions; some go to hunting homes; some have excelled as service dogs; and some have completed hunt tests certifications. All of the dogs in our breeding program are great companions.
